On October 7th, we held our first ever Little Red Umbrella Variety Spectacular at the Holy Oak Cafe on Bloor. It was a mish-mash of entertainment: Jordan Foisy did stand-up and Adam Bunch told stories about drunk William Faulkner and drunk Ernest Hemingway in Toronto. Then Bonnie Bowman read from her fucked up novel, Spaz, and Cody McGraw did a live version of his advice column, "Ask Cody". Tomboyfriend House Cabaret! played an awesomely intimate set of rock 'n' roll and DJ Flex Rock capped it all off with a dance party of songs from our Songs You Can Dance Around Your Apartment To podcasts all the way into the wee hours of the morning. And best of all, 10% of the bar sales went to the AIDS Committee of Toronto.
