We make no secret of the fact that we're head-over-heels in the love with the raw and raucous The Balconies. For years now, ever since the indie rockers first moved to Toronto from Ottawa, we've been going to see them live pretty much every chance we get. And they seem to just keep getting better.
Their latest single, "Kill Count" — quite possibly their best track yet — now it has a shiny new video which actually somehow manages to capture something of the energy of their live shows through the use of Mixed Martial Arts and a generous dollop of glitter. Best of all, they'll be playing the Horseshoe on Saturday night with Nightbox and Christina Summers and the whole thing is only going to cost you $8.50. (Facebook invite here.)
