It's hard to believe that Li Wei doesn't use digital effects to create his work. And once you've seen it, you immediately understand why. His photographs show him in a series of gravity- and logic-defying positions, floating through the air, falling off buildings, his body in pieces. Wikipedia calls his work "a mixture of performance art and photography that creates illusions of a sometimes dangerous reality." And everything he needs to create it is on set: mirrors, wires, scaffolds and just plain old physical prowess. His work has appeared in Flash Art, Magazin-Frankfurter Rundschau, Out of the Red, Zoom, NY Arts, Fine Arts Literature, Lapiz and Arte Al Limite.
