Weaves are new and they are awesome. Fronted by Jasmyn Burke (from RatTail) and co-created by Morgan Waters (Dwayne Gretzky, Sweet Thing), their relentlessly rumbling rock made them one of our favourite new discoveries at this year's North By Northeast — so much so, we saw them twice. At the time, they only had one track available to stream online (so we did: over and over again). But last week they finally released their second: it's the tune we called "their very best song to date" when we first heard it live. It's called "Motorcycle".
"We're all from Toronto," Burke explained as she introduced the tune at a house party during NXNE, "where everybody fucks each other. So I thought I'd write a song about... having fun."
