This Friday night, Toronto’s greatest super-group cover-band named in honour of a hockey player (sorry Bobby Roar) will be taking the stage at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. Hot off a successful residency at the Horseshoe — where they played sets full of Beatles tunes, love songs, and the entirely of The Band’s Last Waltz among other things — this time around, they’ll be playing hits from the 1990s. Big Shiny Dwayne. You can find the details on Facebook.
As you might expect, something this awesome will soon be sold out, but fear not: thanks to our friends at the Young Lions Music Club, The Little Red Umbrella has a pair of tickets to give away. For a chance to win them, just follow us on Twitter @LittleRedU and tweet us with your favourite song from the first volume of Big Shiny Tunes. We’ll pick the winner at random from all the entries we get by 5pm tomorrow (Wednesday, April 16) noon on Thursday, April 17 and — should you be the lucky follower — we’ll get at you with the deets.
