THURSDAY — The Hideout was only half full on Thursday night when Le Trouble took the stage. But that didn't stop frontman Michael Mooney from wringing every once of energy he could from the crowd. As the Montreal group bashed out their driving, falsetto-filled indie rock (the band likes to say their music straddles "that thin line between Meat Loaf, Hall and Oates, and punk"), Mooney bounced around the stage, leapt from the monitors, and even ventured out into the audience at one point. He got down on his knees in front of a woman in the crowd — full on rock & roll swagger quickly followed by an endearing apology in case he'd freaked her out.
And the audience responded to Le Trouble with that rarest of industry festival showcase phenomenons: this is was one of the few shows of the week where people actually danced.LOOK
